Welcome to Preschool in the Lemon Grove School District.  Our program goals are to provide access to quality, developmentally appropriate instruction, and stimulating experiences which promote cognitive and social-emotional growth, through the context of play, and inclusive parental involvement.  This includes attention to early brain development, the developmental stages of language, including language acquisition, as well as physical and academic growth.   The first five years of a child’s life has a profound effect upon a child’s cognitive development.  This period of life provides a foundation which will support a child all the way through adulthood.

We build on the strengths of the child, and meet the needs by providing a variety of both teacher-directed and child-centered activities in language and literacy, math, science, social studies, art, music, and creative movement.  Young children can be spontaneous and unpredictable; therefore the classroom environment is structured to take advantage of a child’s natural curiosity.

Open communication among all preschool staff, administration, and families is supported and encouraged.  We believe that parents are the primary educators of their children. By working in partnership with families and the community, we, the Lemon Grove School District strive to provide an enriching program, which provides learning experiences for young children to be successful, as they begin their academic journey.
